Who are the Fausto brothers?

The Fausto Brothers Martin, Enrique and Anton are sons of Marvin and Rose Fausto.  Marvin was the Head of Trust of Equitable PCI Bank and is now the Head of Investments of Banco De Oro.  Rose, prior to becoming a full time homemaker, was also an investment banker.

Martin, the oldest, is 19 years old.  He finished his elementary and high school with honors at Xavier School, Greenhills.  He is now an incoming junior taking up Management at the Ateneo de Manila University.  He is a member of the Company of Ateneo Dancers, one of the top hip hop school-based dance groups in our country today.  He sometimes plays the piano and is always the video maker and host in family parties.

Enrique, the second just turned 17 last month.  He also finished his elementary with honors at Xavier School.  He is an incoming high school senior in the same school.  He plays the guitar in a band called Luna Rye which he formed with friends from Xavier and ICA.  He also plays the piano and has composed a couple of songs.  He was a member of his school’s soccer varsity team in grade school and is now an officer of Dance X, Xavier’s varsity dance team.  He is also a member of the Xavier Ultimate Frisbee team.  Enrique is currently the president of the Parish Youth Central in Our Lady of Consolation Parish in their village.

Anton, the youngest, is 13 years old.  He graduated with honors from the Ateneo Grade School last March where he was also awarded a medal for his co-curricular activities in dancing, his current passion.  He was also a member of his Table Tennis varsity team.  Anton also plays the guitar and piano.  His ambition is to be the country’s youngest billionaire.

The Fausto Brothers have been exposed to financial literacy very early in life.  When they were still babies, their parents opened their individual savings accounts.  They have been saving from their allowance, cash gifts and occasional earnings from different endeavors.  They were also gifted a few shares of stocks of companies that they could easily understand when they were still very young.  Today, they buy their own stocks with their own money.  Since last year, their parents have transferred to them the responsibility of updating their individual Balance Sheets on a quarterly basis.

I'd just like to share a video of this kid, 21 years old, diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his leg. The doctors told him he was cured, but then found 50 tumors in his lungs on his first check up. And started living his life to the full. Fulfilling his bucket list of things to do and places to go to- motivated by love. Love that he had received from his family.

and, he has this to say:
"While I am sad that I perhaps I may not get the chance to experience love in any romantic capacity I have loved and been loved more than most people will ever [experience] in their lifetime.

"The decision to be positive is not one that disregards or belittles the sadness that exists. It is rather a conscious choice to focus on the good and to cultivate happiness and genuinely happiness for happiness is not a limited resource."-Christopher Aiff

When I watch the video, tears start running down on my face. I don't know how is that possible I am a man I must not cry. That's the mindset implanted to me when I was young but that was wrong all along. "If you believe in the lie, the lie become the truth"

Mico's Power Points:

1. God loves you even who you are, what you are going trough even if your the worst person in this world it doesn't matter. We are all equal in His eyes "nagkaiba lang ng serving".

2. God is a God of impossible things. In this world it can't be possible but in God nothing is impossible. I encourage you guys not to depend on your own strength, ability, knowledge, in the patterns of the world cause really its not your battle alone. Open the door of your heart so that God may come in.

3. Be Proud of what God has given you and be thankful. We live here on earth not to gain wealth or to be rich, to be popular, but really to honor Him in what ever we do. We are only His stewards of all of riches that we have right now. Know your purpose and use it to help others. God still uses the ordinary people of this earth to create transformation and change, the only question is are you willing to use by God?

“It was a dream come true,” said BG Hernandez, head designer of Studio 5, the graphic design firm that took on the Herculean task of creating what the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) called “The New Generation Currency.” “All this time, we kept praying that a client would give us a really big project. Well, be careful what you wish for.”

It all began with a problem, says Studio 5 president Marily Orosa. “Our money is 25 years old, and in time have become the more inferior ones because we’ve never changed it. And not surprisingly, technology has caught up with us. (BSP) wanted a bill that was aesthetically pleasing, that would echo our heritage and culture. More importantly, they wanted it to be secure, a working bill that could hide the marks that protect it from counterfeiters.” The concerns turned out to be more practical, rather than aesthetic. Still, the money needed to look great. And Studio 5 was more than willing to step up to the challenge.

Studio 5 was already a regular designer for BSP when they got the call for what might easily be the biggest job of their lives. “We didn’t bother thinking about what it entailed, or even how much they’d pay us. We instantly said yes,” said Marily. The call was for an invitation to submit test designs for the next line of Philippine money. Three agencies were invited, two were selected: Studio 5 and Design Systemat.

“The biggest challenge for us was that it had to be a complete redesign,” says BJ. “Normally, one or two bills are redesigned at a time but when BSP saw the opportunity to change all six, they took it. And we took it from there.” Studio 5 split the responsibilities with Design Systemat. The 20, 50 and 1000 peso bills went to Studio 5 and Design Systemat took the 100, 200 and 500 peso bills.

Before this big BSP project, Studio 5 has been designing coffee table books and below-the-line advertising. And as it is in books and advertising, it’s all about telling the story. Marily saw what they needed to do. “The front of the bill is a political and historical story. It shows milestone events in our country and the people behind them. The back of the bill showcases our cultural heritage.”

BG took it all as a challenge he needed to overcome. “It wasn’t the design that was the hard part. It was bringing all these different elements together and giving them meaning. Every single line, design, pattern have a meaning, and I needed to bring all of that in each bill.”

BG says he learned a lot from what might be the most important job of his career. “I learned na babalik ka sa pagka-Pinoy mo e. Although there are so many nice currencies out there, it’ll be so hard to copy them and youshouldn’t copy them. Eventually, you really have to go back to your roots. And at the end of the day, being part of something this big, it’s nothing short of historic. We don’t know how long that design will be there, but I can’t be happier. Ako, my kids were just too happy, and instant stars sila bigla sa school.”

As a devout Christian, Marily found another sense of fulfillment in the creation of the new bills. “America is removing God in their dollar and look what’s happening to their economy. We have nothing to lose by putting God in our money,” she says. “We added a line from Psalms: ‘Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.’ Translated into Tagalog, it became, ‘Pinagpala and bayan na ang Diyos ang panginoon.’ This is more than just a money thing. We’re saying we can be proud of all of these things: our history, our culture, and our faith.”

Making money is a risky business. There are so many things to consider, so many people to please. But when it comes down to it, it’s just something to good too pass up. Marily Orosa said it best, “If you cannot be great, be part of something great. And this was a great project.” As in everything, it’s never just about the money.

I remember when I was a kid; Aling Iling is roving in the community just to sell newspapers. Until now, 20 years have passed; she is still working in order to suffice her needs. As soon as I’ve taken the picture, I see the true meaning of life and love in our country. Notwithstanding with the years of blood and sweat, she manages to smile just to forget her struggles in life. She helped me understand the real meaning of the cliché “Habang may buhay, may pag-asa” ‘cause even if she’s old, she’s not giving up on the trials given by God.

Its not important how fast you start or how big you start as long as you are consistent into what you are doing even you are slow or little it doesn't matter because in the end consistency is the name of the game. Consistent effort is the "secret".

Psalm 71:14
But as for me, I will always have hope;
I will praise you more and more

Job 13:15
Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him;
I will surely defend my ways to his face

One Sunday as I woke up early, my mother told me to take a bath and prepare myself because we are going to our old church near our home. As I can remember, my last visit to my old church was last year 2011.

When we got there, I can feel a burning desire inside my heart. I didn't know what is it for.  As we went inside, I can see the joy from the eyes of the senior ushers giving handouts for the topic of the service. The topic was all about "missions" which is I'm currently thinking of joining a 10-day missions trip. I think this is a confirmation from God.

During the praise and worship time as I sing worship song (slow song because of the church is pentecostal and conservative), I noticed the right side of the congregation. It is a group of deaf people worshipping God. Peoplewho can not hear nor make noise. Suddenly my heart breaks seeing these people doing worship and yearning for God.

Being deaf is not a hindrance for them in worshiping a big God, the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings. (double thumbs up to you guys!)

Back then, I was reminded of how lucky and blessed I am for having this complete body. Having a mouth to speak out my emotions and ears for listening to others. Isn't it great that we all have these kind of features but take it for granted? My brothers and sisters, I encourage you to use the full potential of what God has given you. Do not compare yourself to others because you are a unique creation of God and we are not the same.

Acknowledge Him in any ways that you can and remember that "WORSHIP IS NOT AN OPTION"
